About

Heart House Music
The Heart House Music Committee has been going strong for over 60 years! To join the music committee, you must be a member of Hart House, an alumni, current student, or faculty member of U of T. The Music Committee is responsible for organizing, producing and overseeing
great music at Heart House. Our music series includes Open Stage, Sunday Concerts, Jazz at Oscar’s, Midday Mosaics, Stages and special events.
During our history we have presented concerts with a variety of artists including Glenn Gould, The Orford String Quartet, Jane Bunnett, K-OS, Sarah Slean and many others. Next year the illustrious Sunday Concert series will be celebrating its 600th concert! Members of the Music Committee are a hands on group who review material, make decisions
and propose new ideas. The musical season follows the university semester – so you can always find music at the House from September through to April.
Committee members meet once a month while sub-committees meet as necessary. We are always interested in new faces and new ideas so if you would like to join our committee and help out in showcasing great music please contact us!

The Music Committee is also responsible for the Record Room, a fun and relaxing place to sit back, relax and listen to our vast selection of music. We care for and maintain the piano’s in the House which are available for Hart House members to play. If you wish to play one of our Steinway pianos you must have your Grade 10 certificate; if this is not your speed then our upright pianos are available to all members without restrictions. Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers in attendance as well.

The Heart House Music Committee is a great opportunity to get involved in
music from publicity, to event management, to special projects and more- we’ve got something for everyone!
